Bank of Zumbrota was one of the sponsors of the Spare Key Groove Gala, held February 27, 2016, with members of the Bank of Zumbrota Mortgage Team attending.
Spare Key is a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping parents with a seriously ill or critically injured child remain part of their son or daughter’s care team in the hospital. They serve families in Minnesota, providing housing (mortgage or rental) grant assistance so parents can focus on their child’s recovery. Bank of Zumbrota found out about this program when they received mortgage payments from Spare Key – as grants are paid directly to the mortgage company or lender – and has since become involved with Spare Key as a donor. “When we found out about this amazing program, we knew we wanted to be a part of it somehow. And by being a sponsor of the Groove Gala, we were able to do our part in helping these families – some of those who are in our community,” Sandy Perra commented.
Spare Key was created by Robb and Patsy Keech as a living legacy to their son, Derian. Now, almost 17 years later, Spare Key has served families in more than 500 cities across the Midwest and continues to grow its capacity to help families “Bounce and not Break”.
